Working with Backgrounds

Selecting Backgrounds

You can find the background in the selection area under “Backgrounds”. In the list of selection options, you can select a category of backgrounds from the drop down menu. The categories of "Favourites" and "Trash" are also available in the backgrounds category. Highlighted objects can be added into these categories using the dropdown menu (right mouse button).

Multicolour Backgrounds

Multicolour backgrounds are a special case. They are therefore not available for all photo products. They are textured (patterned) backgrounds in 36 different shades which are available in a colour selection box. This should give you an option to suit any combination of images.

Single Colour Backgrounds

In the case of single-coloured backgrounds, with the exception of black and white, more backgrounds are available in a wide range of colours.

Inserting Backgrounds

You can insert a background across the entire double page by double-clicking the thumbnail in the object selection. It should appear across both pages. If you only want the background on a right or left page, click and drag the thumbnail using the left mouse button to the corresponding page. There are more options of how to display backgrounds under the preview display. If no background is inserted on the page, the page background remains white.

Note:

On the work area, the background may be displayed in a low resolution and appear to be somewhat blurred. A better impression of the background can be seen in the preview (button below in the view options).

Your Own Photo as Background

The icons "Image as background on both pages", "Image as background left", "Image as background right" and "Add image as background on all inside pages" are provided underneath the thumbnails of the photos. These tools enable you to use the currently selected image as the background for a complete double page spread or just the right-hand or left-hand page of your CEWE PHOTOBOOK. Unlike the supplied backgrounds, the photo inserted as a background can be selected and edited using the photoshow. That means you can edit it later and adjust the colour and brightness or use a picture effect.
